Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw to Open 'Global IndiaAI Summit 2024'
The 'Global IndiaAI Summit 2024', set to take place on July 3-4 in New Delhi, will be inaugurated by Union Minister for Electronics and IT, Railways, and I&B, Ashwini Vaishnaw, according to an announcement from the IT Ministry.
Minister of State for Electronics and IT and Commerce and Industry, Jitin Prasad, is also scheduled to address attendees at the event.
The summit aims to assemble a diverse group of international delegates, AI specialists, and policymakers. On its first day, the event will feature an extensive range of sessions focusing on pivotal aspects of AI application and governance. Among these, the session ‘IndiaAI: Large Language Models’ will delve into how advanced AI models can manage India's linguistic variety while adhering to ethical norms.
Simultaneously, the ‘GPAI Convening on Global Health and AI’ session will explore how AI can be harnessed to improve healthcare in underserved regions, positioning India as a leader in promoting inclusive healthcare through innovation.
The second day will emphasize fostering talent and scaling AI innovations. A session titled ‘Empowering Talent through AI Education & Skilling’ will address the AI skills gap by highlighting educational strategies and career opportunities. Concurrently, 'AI for Global Good: Empowering the Global South' will engage in discussions on developing inclusive AI, reflecting India’s commitment to equitable global AI access, as stated by the IT Ministry.
This summit underscores India’s dedication to advancing AI for societal benefit and strengthening its role as a key player in the global AI landscape.
